The North End of Possum Kingdom Lake is where you'll find all the original fishing camps and a good bit of local businesses, too. There's a special charm and quaintness to this older part of the lake, which happens to be where quite a few of the "full-timers" live. The Brazos River is not far from this area, the water tends to be more shallow and the fishing can be quite good here. New homes continue to be built in this area, although not as frequently, or as grand, as in other parts of PK.
Take a drive through the old camps, like Sky Camp or Rock Creek, or the PK Lodge some time when you're out this way.
