Marsha Bettis, Pondera's Managing Broker and west side resident, reports that the fire is upwind from lakefront properties on the Willingham, and that it may be on the ranch behind and east of the Willingham.

A fire has been spotted on North side of Willingham Ranch on the west side. Our house is off of Navaho. If anyone has specific information on this fire, would you please let me know. My son works on the lake and he said the fire is really close to our house. Any information would be great. Thank you

My son is in the cove and there are helicopters dumping water on the fire now. According to him, the wind is blowing away from the homes along the water in Willingham Ranch. The fire is near Navaho Lane but behind the ridge (to the north of the homes along the waterfront). I have recent pictures that I can forward if anyone would like.

Beth, pretty sure your house on Navaho is ok....the fire is east and north of there and wind is blowing AWAY from the lakefront of the Willingham.

Watching from our house across from lakeshore marina. Fire seems to be moving away from any homes on willing ham. Lots of firetrucks going down 1148. We saw the start and called 911

FM 1148 is closed East of Ramsey Road. Traffic is not being allowed into Lakeshore Marina or Willingham Ranch per an eyewitness. Discussions with the officer indicated there are fire trucks and helicopters fighting the fire but there is not indication when the fire will be under control.

According to the Lake Country Sun at 6:20 pm on 6/25/11: West Side fire is north of the lake, wind from the south. Big, hard to access. Went in the Stovall gate at the entrance to Maverick off 1148, went back in a couple of miles and it was back toward the east(?) quite a distance. Also, spotter plane was on site around 4, Texas Forest Service units were headed that direction. Saw them around 5:30 on 180 at the Highway 16 intersection traveling west. Unsure if 16 is closed.

Regarding the west side fire, Marsha Bettis reports from her boat that no smoke is seen in Lakeshore Cove. All lake front in Willingham Ranch is fine.

According to Kyle Walker this morning from his place on the north end of the lake, he can see no smoke and no activity in the air. Fingers crossed the fire has been extinguished and that it won't flare up today.

Thankful that the fires were extinguished and there was no flare up of the fire today. Thank you to Pondera for the website, for checking on the fire and getting information to us. There was a quick response to this fire and for that we are grateful. Thank you all!
